Our Community Programs are designed to bring people together, strengthen connections, and create opportunities for individuals and families to participate, grow, and thrive. We believe strong communities are built when everyone has a sense of belonging and has meaningful opportunities to contribute.

Through inclusive activities, educational opportunities, community events, support initiatives, and collaborative projects, we work to create welcoming spaces where people can connect with one another, share their experiences, develop new skills, and build stronger relationships.

Community Events & Gatherings

  • The Applaud Mothers celebration: this events creates opportunities for Moms to connect, celebrate, learn, and build relationships. It also provides an opportunity for women to showcase their businesses and sell their products during the celebration.
  • Idea to Income Business Summit: an empowering entrepreneurship initiative designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs, emerging business owners, and community members transform their ideas into viable opportunities.The Summit provides a space to learn, connect, collaborate, and grow. Participants gain practical knowledge, tools, resources, and connections to help them move from the initial idea stage toward developing, launching, and growing a business.
  • Back-to-School Celebration: Celebrating New Beginnings, Building Bright Futures Our Back-to-School Celebration is a community event designed to welcome students and families into a new school year with excitement, encouragement, and support. We believe every child deserves to begin the school year feeling confident, prepared, valued, and empowered. This celebration brings families and community members together for a fun and meaningful experience while helping students access resources and opportunities that support their success. The celebration may include:
  • School Supplies & Backpacks — Providing essential supplies to help students start the school year prepared.
  • Family-Friendly Activities — Games, entertainment, creative activities, and opportunities for families to have fun together.
  • Educational Resources — Sharing information and resources that support learning and academic success.
  • Community Services — Connecting families with helpful community services and back-to-school supports.
  • Food & Refreshments — Creating an opportunity for families and community members to gather and enjoy a meal together.
  • Youth Empowerment — Encouraging students to set goals, believe in themselves, and approach the new school year with confidence.

Community Partnerships

Working collaboratively with local organizations,(Woodgreen community services, Vita Centre, OneParent, Elspeth Heyworth centre for women,Local Foodbank, businesses, service providers, and community members to create meaningful change.

I was inspired by the demographic this event was created for, and I prepared with mothers in mind by creating products specially tailored for them. My experience connecting with attendees at the event was good, and it was amazing being part of such a warm and supportive environment. I would definitely encourage other businesses and vendors to participate in future MomsLikeMe events because I had a great experience overall and appreciated the opportunity to connect with the Community.
